George SCHAUMBERG, proprietor of the Main Street meat market, Mayville 
[Williamstown Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born 14 August 1857 in 
Germantown [Germantown Township], Washington County, Wisconsin. He has spent 
his life and been educated in Wisconsin. He lived for four years in 
Milwaukee [Milwaukee County, Wisconsin], where he learned his business. He 
opened a shop in Theresa [Theresa Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin] in 1877.

On 18 September 1878 he [George SCHAUMBERG] married Miss Sophia ALBRECHT. 
Mr. [George] SCHAUMBERG is a Democrat in politics. He began in Mayville 
[Town 12 North, Range 16 East, Dodge County, Wisconsin] on 01 August 1879. 
He has done a good business, as he has a central location, and is one of the 
youngest and most successful of the business men of Mayville.
