WI BIO - Dodge Co - ROHLINGER, John History of Dodge County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1880, p 759 John ROHLINGER, farmer, Sections 4 and 5 [Herman Township], P. O. Woodland [on the borderline of Hubbard and Herman Townships, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born in 1832 in Prussia. In 1847 he came to [the Territory of] Wisconsin, locating, with his father, in the town of Herman [Herman Township, Dodge County, just east of Hubbard Township], where he remained until he was twenty-four years old, when he purchased seventy-two acres in Section 4 [Herman Township], afterward adding 129 acres, his present homestead. Mr. ROHLINGER is considered a very successful farmer, raising both stock and grain. In 1857 he [John ROHLINGER] married Miss M. HEIN, a native of Germany. They [John and M. (HEIN) ROHLINGER] have eight children. Mr. ROHLINGER has been Justice of the Peace for two years, and a member of the School Board for nine years, also Clerk and Treasurer.
