WI BIO - Dodge Co - REX, Henry History of Dodge County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1880, p 728 Henry REX, druggist, Hustisford [Hustiford Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born on 28 July 1842 in Prussia. He came to America in 1855 with his parents, and settled with them in the Town of Hubbard. [Hubbard Township is adjacent to the north of Hustisford Township.] Here he attended English school, living on the farm until 1873, when he began in the drug business in Hustisford with Otto FEHLAND, a thorough druggist, for a tutor. Mastering the profession, Mr. REX has since successfully continued it, having the only drug store in the place [Hustisford]. He carries a complete line of drugs and medicines, pure liquors for medicinal purposes, paints, oils and varnishes, brushes of all kinds, toilet soaps, perfumery, toilet articles, shoulder braces, trusses, sponges, school books and stationery, tobacco, cigars, pipes, notions, etc. In 1864 he [Henry REX] married Miss Wilhelmina DOWE. They [Henry and Wilhelmina (DOWE) REX] have four living children: Charles, Emma, Lydia, and Hugo. Mr. REX began in debt, has supported a family, and now owns both store and stock, owing nothing. Mr. REX is a stanch Democrat, and belongs to Heine Lodge, No. 152, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
