WI BIO - Dodge Co - REMMEL, Peter History of Dodge County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1880, pp 758-759 Peter REMMEL, Proprietor of the Wisconsin Hotel, Neosho [Rubicon Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born in 1849 in Prussia in 1849. He came to Wisconsin in 1854, locating at Rubicon with his father, where Peter received his education at [p 759] the district school. At the age of twenty-two years [by calculation, in 1871 or 1872], Peter REMMEL purchased a farm of fifty-three acres in Hustisford [Hustiford Township, adjacent to the west of Rubicon Township, Dodge County], Wisconsin. In 1870 he [Peter REMMEL] married Miss Katherine SCHNECK, a native of Wisconsin. They [Peter and Katherine (SCHNECK) REMMEL] have four children, three boys and one girl. Peter REMMEL sold his farm in Hustiford in 1874, moved to Rubicon, and then opened the Wisconsin Hotel at Neosho, which is considered by the traveling public to be one of the best kept hotels in Dodge County.
