[Peter REINHARD and his bride (who was "Christiana BURGER" by birth) were thus married the same year (and probably after) the bride's mother (who was "Christiana BURGER" by marriage) passed away.] Mr. [Peter] REINHARD [p 739] and family are members of the Reform Church; they [Peter and Christiana (BURGER) REINHARD] have nine children: (1) Peter , born 24 September 1858; (2) Christiana, born 10 September 1860; (3) Albert , born 10 October 1862; (4) Edward, born 23 November 1864; (5) Julia A., born 27 November 1866; (6) Ferdinand, born 13 May 1869; (7) Henry, born 17 January 1872; (8) Ernest, born 19 February 1875; and (9) Lena, born 24 November 1876. Biography of Philip REINHARD - p 739 (son of Peter; brother of Christian & Peter) Philip REINHARD, Postmaster, also dealer in general merchandise, Lowell [Lowell Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born in 1833 near Neuwied, Prussia, son of Peter REINHARD and Julia A. REINHARD, whose maiden name was SEUSHER. In 1847 he [Philip] emigrated to this [Lowell] Township with his parents. In political affairs he has attached himself to the Republican party, and has taken a most active interest in its career. Mr. REINHARD is one of the representative men of Lowell, and one who has identified himself closely with its progress and the development of its religious and educational interests. [Lowell (where Philip REINHARD was Postmaster) and Reeseville (where Christian REINHARD was Postmaster) are less than three miles apart, both located in Lowell Township, Dodge County. Reeseville is shown on an 1878 map of Dodge County to be on the LaCrosse Division of the Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway. The first train in Wisconsin ran in 1851 (Milwaukee to Waukesha), thus the family did not arrive in Dodge County via a railroad in 1847. In that year Dodge County was still part of the Territory of Wisconsin, the State of Wisconsin being created the next year, on 29 May 1848. That year also saw the greatest number of German immigrants come to the state. REINHARD may also appear in records as REINHARDT. Submitter did not seek or view primary or other records to substantiate information given in these biographies.] Submitted by Cathy Kubly
