From Memorial and Genealogical Record of Dodge and Jefferson Counties, Wisconsin, publ. 1894 - Page 37 ALBERT J. CLARK. This wide-awake and progressive young fruit grower, of Dodge County, Wis., is a son of Amasa B. CLARK, whose sketch precedes this. Although he makes a specialty of this occupation, he is also engaged in farming, an occupation with which he became familiar while living with his parents, and which he has since followed to a greater or less extent. He is a native son of Wisconsin, and was born on the farm on which he is now residing, in Dodge County, February 19, 1863. His youth and early manhood were spent in tilling the soil and in attending school, and in addition to attending the common school in the vicinity of his rural home, he also attended the high school of Mayville. After attaining his majority he took charge of the home place, and has since purchased sixty acres of the old homestead. He first engaged in the raising of fruit in a small way, but continued adding to his acreage from year to year and has about twenty-five acres devoted solely to this business. He raises strawberries, blackberries, black and red raspberries, all of first-class varieties, and his annual returns from the same present quite a handsome sum. He has been successful in this line of human endeavor, and is one of the most extensive fruit growers in Dodge county, and supplies the adjoining town with small fruits. Like his worthy sire before him, he has always supported the Republican party, but has never desired or aspired to hold public office. As he has resided in Dodge County all his life, its citizens have had every opportunity to judge of his character, and naught has ever been said derogatory to his honor. He is a capable business man, and is in every way worthy the success which has attended his efforts. On the 29th of December, 1885, he was united in marriage with Miss Teressa BACHHUBER, a native of Dodge County, reared in Mayville, and to her union with Mr. CLARK two children have been given: Leon Gilbert and Ray I. Mr. CLARK is a member of Mayville Lodge of the A.F.& A.M. Submitted by Carol Holmbeck
