His parents, Samuel and Mercy AUSTIN, removed to Pennsylvania in 1832, thence to Ohio in 1834, and to Jefferson County, Wisconsin 03 July 1844; afterward to Elba Township, Dodge County, Section 34, where they resided until their death. Mr. [Samuel M.] AUSTIN is among the earliest settlers and largest farmers of Dodge County; has 800 acres of land; is engaged extensively in stock raising. Mr. [Samuel M.] AUSTIN was married to Philena ADAMS [a maiden name?], whose parents settled in Jefferson County [Wisconsin] in 1840, and came to Elba Township, Dodge County, in 1845.
