Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1880, p 765 Charles ARENBERG, cooper, Sixth Ward, Dodge County, was born in Brunswick, Germany, on 08 October 1832. He came to America in July 1854; located in Milwaukee; came to Watertown [Dodge County] in May 1856. He [Charles ARENBERG] was married in Milwaukee [Milwaukee County, Wisconsin], in June 1855, to Mary DITTES [a maiden name?]. She was born in Baden, Germany. They [Charles and Mary ARENBERG] have had three children. One died in infancy. The living [children] are Otelle and Ernst. Mr. ARENBERG is one of the oldest coopers in the State. He has been engaged in the business ever since he came to the county. He is one of the leading citizens of the city. Charles ARENBERG has been Supervisor. He is now President of Concordia Musical Society, having held that position several times. He has been President of the Northwestern Saengerbund, and is at present a member of that society.
