Joachim ALWART, farmer [Emmet Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], P. O. 
Watertown [Dodge County], was born in Germany in 1831. He came to America in 
1851. [Joachim ALWART] married Miss Albertena BETOW, of Johnstown, Rock 
County, Wisconsin, and lived there until 1866, when he moved to Watertown 
[Dodge County, Wisconsin], and bought a farm of 144 acres within the city 
limits and upon which he now lives. He has [Joachim and Albertena (BETOW) 
ALWART have] five children: John, Bertha, Herman, George, and William. Mr. 
ALWART has been a prominent member of the Lutheran Church and has been a 
Trustee of the same for five years.
