John ALBERT, Mayville [Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born in Mecklenburg 
[Germany] in 1828. He came to America in 1853; resided six months in Oshkosh 
[Winnebago County, Wisconsin], and over a year in Watertown. [Watertown in 
Dodge County or Watertown in Jefferson County?] He settled in Mayville in 
1856; here he worked more than twenty years in the Mayville turning shop.

In 1859 he married Miss Louisa KINKLE. They [John and Louisa (KINKLE) 
ALBERT] have two children: (1) Amelia, and (2) Charles. Mr. ALBERT is 
Independent in politics. He retired from business in 1876. Owns ten acres 
of land adjoining the village, where he has built a good home.
