John J. SUHR is president of the German American Bank, Madison, Dane County, 
Wisconsin. The bank was established in 1871, and has been very successful. 
The obliging cashier is F. W. SUHR. Our subject [John J. SUHR] came to this 
city in January 1857. He [John J. SUHR] was born 27 May 1836, in the free 
city of Bremen, one of the oldest and most loyal cities of Germany. He is a 
member of the Madison Free Library Board and of the Board of Education, and 
is an ex-President of the Turner Society.
