JOHN PARMAN was born in Mecklenburg Schwerin, Prussia, in 1826, and came to Black Earth in 1853. He stayed there on a farm until 1864, when he came to the village of Mazomanie and began a wagon and blacksmith shop. He continued this business until 1884, when he bought a farm a mile west of the village. He married Miss Louise Sievert in Prussia in 1853. The children are: Alwina, now Mrs. Kern, in Montana, Wis.; Autie and Aaron on the farm; Abraham, who has been assessor for the last two years, also on the farm; Ida, instructor in Latin and German in the high school at Brodhead, Wis., for the last five years.
