JOHN HUDSON was born in Belchford, Lincolnshire, Eng., and 
came to Gorstville in 1843. He was the first settler on 
the present village site. He died in 1865. The children 
now living are: Andrew, in Dakota; John, in Grand Meadow, 
Minn.; James, in Mazomanie; and Mary, now Mrs. Hutton, in 
Wyoming. James Hudson, the son, has served as town 
supervisor three years and as town treasurer three years.
