HICKS was born in Devonshire, Eng., in 1843 and came to Canada in 1845 and to Milwaukee in 1861. He enlisted in 1864 in Co. H of the 6th Wis. Infantry and served in the Iron Brigade until 1865. After the war he spent ten years in Milwaukee in the milling business, and came to Mazomanie in 1878 and was the superintendent of the flour mill for about twelve years. He then went on a farm until 1900. He married Miss Margaret Kearney. Their children are: John Clarence, George, Mamie, Alice, Nellie, John Logan, Clyde, Marguerite. Submitted by Randi McCartney
