JOHN GORST was born in Northwich, Eng., April 30, 1826. He 
came to Gorstville in 1845, and six years later bought his 
present farm. In 1852 he married Prudence Copley. They 
have eight children: Dr. Charles Gorst in Baraboo, Wis.; 
Wm. Gorst, presiding elder of the M. E. church at Neligh, 
Neb.; Robert N., at Trout Lake, Mich.; Drusilla, wife of 
Chas Orcutt, in Nebraska; George, on the farm; Sarah, wife 
of B. C. Delamater, at Tigerton, Wis.; Wealthy, wife of H. 
E. Bonchard, in Michigan; and Bessie, with her parents.
