The History of the Township and Village of Mazomanie, BY WILLIAM KITTLE, MADISON, WIS. STATE JOURNAL PRINTING CO. 1900. ROBERT GILLETT was born May 16, 1841, in England. He lived in Springfield until 1861, when he enlisted in the 11th Wis. Infantry. He served four years in the war and was at the siege of Vicksburg and in campaigns along the Mississippi. In 1862 he married Miss Emma Ford, and from 1865 to 1883 they lived on a farm in Springfield. In 1883 they moved to a farm in Berry, where they remained till 1893, then they moved to Mazomanie. Their children are: Robert E., George M., Joseph E., Blanche E., Flora L., Annie Z., Arthur C., Prudence and Edith. Submitted by Randi McCartney
