EDWARD BATTY was born December 11, 1847, in Black Earth, 
and lived on his father's farm until about the age of 
twenty. He then bought a farm in Iowa county, where he 
lived until 1893, when he moved to Mazomanie. He is now 
village trustee. In 1872 he married Miss Catherine 
Ellsworth. Their children are: Mrs. Collins, near Blue 
Mounds; Bessie Glee, Harry, Louie and Frankie.
