CRIST, carpenter, Jefferson; was born in Jefferson March 6, 1844; has been in present business since youth. Married Harriet C. Tillotson May 2, 1870; she was born Aug. 22, 1845; they have two children – Marie Antoinette, born Jan. 4, 1874, and Adeline, Jan. 1, 1877. Mr. C. belongs to the Odd Fellows; he enlisted, in December, 1861, in Co. D, 16th W.V.I., and mustered out July 12, 1865; was in the battles of Shiloh and Corinth, in the siege of Atlanta, and with Sherman all through his march to the sea. His father, George, is still living, and was one of the early settlers, coming to Jefferson in 1842, where he still resides. Mrs. Susannah R. Crist, mother of Geo. B., died in 1856.
