ROUNDS was born in Clarksville, Huron County, Ohio, but his parents returned to Cattaraugus County, New York, where they had formerly resided, when Charles R. was but an infant; he was reared in New York State. In 1859 he [Charles R. ROUNDS] removed to Bell Centre, Clayton Township, Crawford County, Wisconsin, and in 1861 located on a farm there. In 1864 Mr. [Charles R.] ROUNDS enlisted in Company I [Company L according to the Wisconsin Roster], First Wisconsin Heavy Artillery, serving until the close of the war. [The Civil War officially ended in April 1865.] His father came to Clayton Township [Crawford County, Wisconsin] in 1870, where he resided until his death in 1879. He [Charles R. ROUNDS] married Marianna TWINING [a maiden name?]. They [Charles R. and Marianna ROUNDS] have three children: Mary A., Arthur H., and Rose B. The farm of Mr. ROUNDS, on Sections 28, 29, and 33, Town 10 [North], Range 4 West, now contains 215 acres of land. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
