WI BIO - Clark Co - REUL, G. G. History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol I, p 248 G. G. REUL, foreman, C. C. Washburn's shingle mill, P. O. Hixon, Clark County, Wisconsin, was born 10 January 1852 in Ft. Atkinson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. His father was a lumberman and had a sash and door factory. Moving to Dane County and working in the factory most of his time up to 1869, he then struck out for Idaho, where he was engaged in freighting. In 1871 he went to Baraboo [Sauk County, Wisconsin], and in 1873 opened a sash and door factory, run by Reul Brothers. In 1874 he [G. G. REUL] married Miss F. C. ROYCE, of Litchfield [Meeker County], Minnesota. They [G. G. and F. C. (ROYCE) REUL] have one child, George. In 1874 G. G. REUL was working in a mill in Rockford [Winnebago County], Illinois, and in 1875 went to La Crosse [La Crosse County, Wisconsin], and worked with George PIERCE, and finally for C. C. WASHBURN. Mr. REUL came here [Clark County, Wisconsin] in the fall of 1880, and built the shingle mill, which has a capacity of 80,000 per day. He is a member of the Baraboo Masonic lodge.
