Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 251 Charles Sumner LORD, manufacturer, Winooski [Chittenden County, Vermont], was born 03 June 1862 at Bolton [Chittenden County, Vermont], son of David and Betsey Ann (KENNEDY) LORD. Educated at a private school in Waterbury [Washington County, Vermont], and at Green Mountain Seminary, Waterbury Center. Was employed by the Burlington Woolen Company in 1880 in the mills at Winooski. In 1882 entered the office of the mills, and has been cashier since 1884. Was superintendent of Colchester Mill, manufacturing cotton yarn, from 1886 to 1901. Was treasurer of the Winooski Aqueduct Company from 1900 to 1905. Has been treasurer of the Burlington Flouring Company since 1900, and treasurer of the Perfection Overgaiter Company since 1909. Republican. Has been chairman of the board of trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Winooski, and chorister for many years. Member of Webster Lodge No. 61, Free and Accepted Masons, all Scottish Rite bodies, and Cairo Temple of the Mystic Shrine of Rutland; Ethan Allen Club, and Algonquin Club of Burlington. In 1882 Mr. [Charles Sumner] LORD married [Miss?] Angie D. WEEKS of Waterbury Center [Washington County, Vermont], who died in 1895.
