Chittenden CHAMBERLAIN, Thomas Vermont Historical Magazine, No XI, October 1867, p 636 Thomas CHAMBERLAIN was born 23 September 1792 in Topsham [Orange County, Vermont], and began the practice of his profession [medicine] in Fairfield [Franklin County, Vermont] about 1820. In 1822 he [Thomas CHAMBERLAIN] was married to Orissa Wilmarth BARLOW, who died 24 March 1825 [death related to childbirth?]. They had one child, Orissa Barlow CHAMBERLAIN, who was born 22 March 1825, and now resides in Burlington [Chittenden County, Vermont], and is the wife of Brush M. WEBB, the present town clerk. Dr. CHAMBERLAIN removed to and settled in Burlington in 1825, and resided there until his decease. He [Dr. Thomas CHAMBERLAIN] was married again, 24 April 1828, to [Miss?] Nancy Hyde CORNING. She was a lady of great excellence and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. They had one child, Cornelia Van Ness CHAMBERLAIN, who was born 20 February 1830, and married 17 June 1851 to Levi UNDERWOOD, who was Lieutenant Governor of Vermont in 1860 and 1861. Dr. CHAMBERLAIN was a successful and skillful physician and surgeon and continued to practice in his profession until about 1840, when he retired.
