Chittenden BREWSTER, Charles, Jr. Vermont Historical Magazine, No XI, October 1867, p 824 Charles BREWSTER, Jr., son of Deacon Charles BREWSTER, was born, if I mistake not, in Connecticut in 1755. He married Anna TURNER by whom he had ten children, four of whom only are living. He first came from Connecticut to Tinmouth [Rutland County, Vermont], where he resided a few years, from whence he next emigrated to New Huntington in 1787. [Huntington was originally called "New Huntington" in the New Hampshire grants; the name was changed to Huntington in 1795; in Chittenden County, Vermont.] He [Charles BREWSTER, Jr.] died 15 March 1809, aged fifty-four years. His brother, Ozem [BREWSTER], born 29 May 1794, who occupied the first farm in Richmond north [Chittenden County, Vermont], adjoining the town line, died in April following [April 1809?]. Mr. BREWSTER [Charles Jr.] was an industrious man, a good farmer, and possessed a handsome property for those days. [A later footnote in this section on the history of Huntington, Chittenden County, Vermont, from which the above was extracted, adds that Mr. BREWSTER served in the war of the Revolution. See also the Chittenden County, Vermont, biographical note for Ebenezer AMBLER, who married Elizabeth, a daughter of Deacon Charles BREWSTER.] Submitted by Cathy Kubly
