George Yemens BLISS, Clergyman, Burlington [Chittenden County, Vermont], was 
born 12 March 1864 at Shelburne [Chittenden County, Vermont], son of George 
and Mary Adelaide (STEVENS) BLISS. Educated in the public schools of Brandon 
[Rutland County, Vermont] and Santa Barbara [Santa Barbara County], 
California, University of Vermont, and General Theological Seminary, New 
York. The degree of D. D. was conferred on Mr. BLISS at the centennial 
exercises of the University of Vermont in 1904. He has been rector of St. 
Paul's Episcopal Church, Burlington, since 1899. In 1893 he [George Yemens 
BLISS] married [Miss?] Katherine L. SHATTUCK of Burlington [Chittenden 
County, Vermont]; they had four children: Harriette Catherine; Joshua Isham; 
George Yemens, deceased; and Mary Adelaide.
