BERRY, milk inspector, Richmond [Chittenden County, Vermont], was born 28 February 1854 at Lachute, Province of Quebec, Canada, son of Thomas and Ellen (MILLER) BERRY. Educated in the public schools of Jericho, Richmond, and Williston [all in Chittenden County]. Lived with parents in Jericho on the Governor PECK farm for sixteen years; then purchased the Andrew HENLEY farm on Richmond Hill, which he conducted twenty-six years; for nine years and at the present time [1912] inspector for Vermont Condensed Milk Company. In 1877 he [Andrew C. BERRY] married Mary A. HENLEY of Richmond [Chittenden County, Vermont]; they had seven children: Asahel Peck, Ellen Gertrude, Hazel May, Ristora Elizabeth, Harold Clarence, Howard Andrew, and Homer Andrew. Mr. BERRY is a Republican; town committeeman three years; justice of the peace six years; selectman 1893-1896; re-elected 1910; school director three years; also village treasurer. Congregationalist; trustee three years. Treasurer North Star Lodge No. 12, Free & Accepted Masons; member Waterbury Chapter No. 24, Royal Arch Masons; and warden Samaritan Lodge No. 59, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
