Erfurt; born in County Louth, Ireland, where he spent his younger days and was educated; came to America in 1854; lived two years in Summit, Waukesha Co., and then settled on his farm of 160 acres. He has improved this farm, and made a home of the wilderness. Married Miss Mary Maskey, of Summit, April 6, 1856; they have six children - Maggie, Thomas, James, Catherine, Maria and Julia. Mr. Carroll is a Democrat, and a member, with his family, of the Catholic Church. He came to America a poor man, and what he has he has earned himself.
