MORSE, Amasa

Dr. Amasa MORSE was the first physician in Hardwick [Caledonia County, 
Vermont]. He came into town with his family in 1800, and continued to 
practice until his death. "He was a very kind and feeling man and a good 
family physician." [No source given for this quote by the author.] He 
[Amasa MORSE] died in 1820, aged forty-six years. His wife survived him 
nearly forty years, an active woman in the community, and a professing 
Christian; she died in 1859, in the eighty-second year of her age.
