Fairbanks Company, was born 11 March 1856 at St. Johnsbury [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of William Huse and Elizabeth (TINLING) HORTON. Educated at St. Johnsbury public schools. After leaving school entered the scale factory of E. and T. FAIRBANKS & Company, St. Johnsbury; later transferred to their general store; then to their office as assistant cashier; in 1886 made general purchasing agent, which position he still holds. Republican; has served on the Republican town committee; has been justice of the peace; is notary public. Member of the National Geographic Society, interested in and has written many articles on natural history subjects. Member of the Congregational Church, and the Young Men's Christian Association; has served the later organization as president. Member of Passumpsic Lodge No. 27, Free & Accepted Masons; past prelate Palestine Commandery No. 5, Knights Templar.
