Caledonia FOWLER, Jonathan Vermont Historical Magazine, No XI, October 1867, pp 283-284 Extracted from a section on the history of Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont, pages 283-284: "Jonathan FOWLER, one of the four men who settled in the town [Barnet], named one of his sons for him [refers to Col. Alexander HARVEY; see also the Caledonia County, Vermont, biography of Alexander HARVEY for the entire account from which this is extracted], and the colonel [Samuel HARVEY] gave him [Jonathan FOWLER] a lot of land situated in the northeastern part of the town, and Harvey FOWLER is entered in all Whitelaw's charts of Barnet." Also from the section dealing with the history Caledonia, Vermont, from a piece entitled "Enos STEVENS, Esq., and Family," the whole of which (for additional information on STEVENS) can be found in the Caledonia County biographies, is the following from pages 281-282: "To Barnet FOWLER, son of Jonathan FOWLER, the first male child born in Barnet [Caledonia County, Vermont], he gave a lot [a parcel] of land in the northeast part of the town [Barnet], and the name of Barnet FOWLER is written near Harvey FOWLER in Whitelaw's chart of the town."
