Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 184-185 Joseph FAIRBANKS, lawyer, St. Johnsbury, was born 12 January 1881 at St. Johnsbury [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of William P. and Rebecca (PIKE) FAIRBANKS. [From the collective information in the FAIRBANKS biographies for Vermont, Joseph appears to be a grandson of Joseph P. FAIRBANKS]. Educated at St. Johnsbury Academy, Yale University 1903, and Harvard Law School 1906. Admitted to the Vermont bar in 1907, and has since been involved in law practice. Republican. Director and member of the executive committee of E. & T. Fairbanks and Company, scale manufacturers; also director of Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Company; director and treasurer of the National Flooring Company of St. Johnsbury. Member of the South Congregational Church. Was treasurer of the Young Men's Christian Association, 1907-1911, and is now a director. Was secretary of the Caledonia County Fair in 1910.
