Leslie Alexander EVANS, veterinary surgeon, St. Johnsbury [Caledonia County, 
Vermont], was born in 1878 at Sawyerville, Province of Quebec [Canada], son 
of Richard and Sarah (HAMILTON) EVANS. Educated in the public schools, and 
at Sawyerville Academy; graduate of Ontario Veterinary College; began 
practice with Dr. Frank BARTON in Sherbrook, Province of Quebec; removed to 
St. Johnsbury [Caledonia County, Vermont], where he has since been engaged in 
practice; has made a specialty of horse dentistry; is assistant cattle 
commissioner of Vermont. Republican. Attendant of the Congregational 
Church, and a member of the quartet and choir. Member of Passumpsic Lodge 
No. 27, Free & Accepted Masons; Caledonia Lodge No. 6, Independent Order of 
Odd Fellows; St. Johnsbury Commercial Club; Vermont Veterinary Medical 
Association; and Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.
