DARLING, farmer, Burke [Caledonia County, Vermont], was born 01 June 1857 at Sutton [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of Henry G. and Mehitable (WHITCOMB) DARLING. Educated in the public schools, at Lancaster [Coos County], New Hampshire, Academy; and at Bryant and Stratton business college, Boston [Suffolk County, Massachusetts]. After leaving business college in 1883, he took a position as manager of Mountain View Farm, in Burke and Lyndon [both in Caledonia County, Vermont], formerly the home place of Harley M. HALL, consisting of three hundred acres, now increased to 2,400 acres. Republican; was selectman one year; represented Burke in the Legislature 1900. An attendant of the Congregational Church.
