Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 128 Elisha W. BROWN, farmer, Waterford, was born 22 May 1852 in Waterford, [Caledonia County, Vermont], son of Bradley D. and Mary M. (ROSS) BROWN. He was educated in the public schools, at Caledonia County Grammar School, and St. Johnsbury Academy. Mr. BROWN has always engaged in farming in Waterford. Republican; has been town clerk and treasurer for thirteen years, justice of the peace for many years, selectman, school director, auditor, and collector of taxes; represented Waterford in the Legislature in 1890; elected assistant judge of the county court in 1910. In 1880 he [Elisha W. BROWN] married [Miss?] Ella H. BLODGETT of Glover [Orleans County, Vermont], who died 11 January 1882. His second marriage occurred 30 June 1882, when he [Elisha W. BROWN] married [Miss?] Elisa C. KINNE of Waterford. They have two sons, Harrie K., and Dwight B. Mr. BROWN is a member of the Congregational Church, in which he has been deacon, clerk, and treasurer; a member of Moose River Lodge No. 82, Free & Accepted Masons, of Concord, and a member of Caledonia Lodge No. 6, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
