Caledonia BLANCHARD, John C. Vermont Historical Magazine, No XI, October 1867, p 367 [Extracted from a section dealing with the history of Peacham.] John C. BLANCHARD was born in 1787 in Peacham [Caledonia County, Vermont], and graduated at Dartmouth in 1812. After graduating he taught in York [York County], Pennsylvania, two years, reading law at the same time. He then went into practice at Bellefont [Centre County], Pennsylvania. Was elected to congress in 1844, and took his seat in 1845. He [John C. BLANCHARD] died in 1849 at Lancaster [Lancaster County], Pennsylvania, on his way home from Washington [D. C.].
