BLANCHARD Family

[Biographical note extracted from a section on the history of Peacham.] 
Abiel, Peter, Joel, Abel, Reuben, and Simon BLANCHARD, six brothers, were 
born in Hollis [Hillsborough County], New Hampshire, and came to Peacham 
[Caledonia County, Vermont] about 1780. Strong, stalwart, fearless men, well 
fitted for the privations and hazards of pioneer life, they have left a 
numerous posterity; and while many are dispersed abroad, very many still bear 
the name around the old homestead. The children of these six brothers, as 
show by the town records, amount to forty-four.
