MEYERS, Ezra H. History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, p 169 Ezra H. MEYERS, machine and blacksmith shop [Mondovi, Buffalo County, Wisconsin], was born 29 June 1851 in Pennsylvania, and in 1853 came with his parents to Dane County [Wisconsin], where they resided until 1868, at that time moving to Buffalo County on a farm. Here the subject of this sketch remained until 1870, when he commenced to work at his trade in Mondovi. He lived there one year and then engaged with N. R. [N. K.?] Fisher & Company, where he remained six years. In September 1880 he commenced his present business and employs two men, and is now making preparations to add a wagon shop to his other business. Mr. MEYERS is a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Mondovi Lodge No. 23. In 1875 he [Ezra H. MEYERS] was married to Miss Frances LeGORE, daughter of John Le GORE, she being the first white female child born in the Town of Naples [Buffalo County, Wisconsin] on 20 March 1857. They have one son, John F. MEYERS, is also enumerated in the 1880 census of Naples, Buffalo County, Wisconsin: John LeGORE, widower, a farmer, age fifty-five, born in New York, about 1825 from his census age, the birthplace of his father not identified, and his mother born in Pennsylvania. Also residing in this family are two sons of John LeGORE: (1) Lorenzo Dow LeGORE, age thirty-four, married, a farmer, born in Wisconsin (about 1846) to parents born in New York; and (2) Stephen LeGORE, single, farmer, age twenty-three, born in Wisconsin (about 1857) to parents also born in New York; and a daughter-in-law of John LeGORE, namely Lizzie LeGORE (Lorenzo's wife?), age twenty-one, dressmaker, born in New York.
