Jefferson; born at Highgate, Vt., Aug. 12, 1804; was for some time in Braceville, Trumball Co., Ohio, till Nov. 4, 1845, when he removed to Jefferson and bought school land for present farm, on Sections 23 and 24. Married Elizabeth Armstrong for first wife, by whom he had four children – Alphonso, Franklin, Horatio and Elizabeth. Alphonso and Horatio are dead. Horatio was in the late war. F. B. has taught school several terms, and was known as the “Teacher Brewer,” and is now a doctor. Mr. Brewer married Miss Sarah Hake, for second wife, April 15, 1843; she was born in 1814; had eight children by this wife – Leah (now dead), born July 6, 1841; Daniel, Jan. 21, 1843; Peter, Dec. 23, 1846; Sarah, Jan. 10, 1853; Sylvester H., Aug. 16, 1852; Cynthia, Jan. 10, 1855; Jay, Jan. 13, 1859, and Maryette, March 10, 1845.
