“The History of Jefferson County, Wisconsin”, published: Chicago: Western Historical Company. 1879. PETER BINKERT, miller; P.O. Busseyville; was born in Canton Aargau, Switzerland, May 18, 1838. He came to Wisconsin in 1852, and engaged at farming, which he followed till 1861. He then apprenticed himself to Mr. Thomas Bussey, of Busseyville, to learn the business of flour-milling. In May, 1865, he married Miss Wilhelmina Volkman; has nine children – Emma, Eliza, Augusta, Minnie, Albert, Nellie, Ida, Benjamin and an infant unnamed. In the spring of 1870, he went with his family to Lake City, Calhoun Co., Iowa, where he purchased 140 acres of land. In 1877, he returned to Busseyville, and resumed the occupation of a miller, which he now follows. In August, 1862, he enlisted in Co.
