ANDREW BIECK, farmer, Rome; born in Germany in 1839; came to America in 1848, with his parents, locating in Sullivan, Jefferson Co., Wis. He enlisted in November, 1861, in 13th W.V.I.; was in the battles of Clarksville, Fort Donelson, and in skirmish with part of Hood's army near Decatur, Ala.; Mr. Bieck was shot through the left arm near Huntsville, Ala., and the arm was amputated, in consequence of which he was discharged April 29, 1865, and now draws a pension. He returned to Rome where he has a pleasant home and about eight acres of land. Married Miss Katrina Pfeiffer, of Sullivan, Feb. 22; they have four children - Ella, Lillie, Emma and George. Mr. B. is a Republican, and has been Supervisor three terms; has one of the largest apiaries in Jefferson Co. Is a member of the German M.E. Church, and Rome Lodge, No. 279, I.O.O.F.
