HUBBELL, James

James HUBBELL, born 17 October 1775 in Bennington [Bennington County, 
Vermont], was admitted to the bar in December 1800. He resided in the city 
of New York for a considerable period, and held the office of magistrate 
under the appointment of Gov. DeWitt CLINTON, which gave him active and 
responsible enjoyment. James HUBBELL afterwards returned to Bennington. He 
[James HUBBELL] died here [Bennington County, Vermont], on 21 April 1840.
