CHARLES BAIRENTHER, joint proprietor of tannery, Jefferson; born 
in Bayern, Germany, June 19, 1854; came to America in 1870, direct to 
Jefferson, where he has since lived.  In 1874, he began in his present 
business with Mr. Troeger.  Married Elizabeth Troeger Dec. 26, 1874; 
they have two children – Christopher, born Sept. 27, 1875, and John, 
December, 1878.  Mr. B. is an Odd Fellow, and belongs to the Lutheran 
Church.
