Educated at Bristol Academy, and Middlebury College, A. B. 1862. Engaged in farming previous to 1900. Republican; represented Bristol in the state Legislature 1884; judge of probate since 1900. Deacon in the Congregational Church. Past master of Libanus Lodge No. 47, Free & Accepted Masons, of Bristol; past high priest Gifford Chapter, Royal Arch Masons; member Mt. Calvary Commandery, Knights Templar; and member of Bristol Grange. In 1863 he [Erwin Amos HASELTINE] married [first wife] Helen L. PARCH of Bristol [Addison County, Vermont]; she [Helen L. HASELTINE] died 1872; they had one child, George L. In 1877 he [Erwin Amos HASELTINE] married [second wife] Jennie C. SEARLES of Berkshire [Franklin County, Vermont]; she [Jennie C. HASELTINE] died 1888; they had two children: Howard S. and Hermon E. In 1897 he [Erwin Amos HASELTINE] married [third wife] Lottie A.
