Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 171 Ezra C. DIKE, merchant, Bristol [Addison County, Vermont], was born 04 April 1837, son of David C. and Abi (BARBER) DIKE. Educated in the public schools. Mr. DIKE began business as a tin peddler, in company with SHEDD & WALKER, continuing nine years. In 1870, under the firm name of Dike, Bixby & Company, began a business in hardware and farming tools in Bristol. The firm lasted three years, when he purchased the interest of his partners, continuing the business to the present time. Republican; represented Bristol in the Legislature 1910; has been selectman, overseer of the poor, and school director; is now lister. In 1868 he [Ezra C. DIKE] married [Miss?] Lucy ROOD of Richmond [Chittenden County, Vermont]; she [Lucy DIKE] died in 1872; they had one daughter, Bertha L. Mr. [Ezra C.] DIKE then married [Miss?] Sarah NEEDHAM of Bristol; they have two children: Edgar Needham, and Lucy L., now Mrs. H. C. PARKER. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
