Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 117 Charles Fremont BENEDICT, farmer, Cornwall [Vermont], was born 04 December 1856 in Cornwall [Addison County, Vermont], son of Charles and Ruth L. (SQUIRE) BENEDICT. Educated in the public schools and Burr & Burton Seminary, Manchester [Bennington County, Vermont]. After leaving school remained on the farm, succeeding to the estate on his father's death, and breeding horses and cattle; his father was a noted Merino sheep breeder. In 1882 he [Charles Fremont BENEDICT] married Agnes B. TAGGART of Nicholville [St. Lawrence County], New York; they have four children, Ward Taggart, Steward Squire, Ruth Jeanette, and Arthur Ellsworth. Mr. BENEDICT is a Republican; represented Cornwall in the Legislature 1908; member of the committee on grand list; has been lister for twenty-five years. An attendant of the Congregational church.
