BEANE, wholesale produce dealer, Lincoln [Addison County, Vermont], was born 15 May 1859 at South Burlington [Chittenden County, Vermont], son of Joseph and Margaret (O'CONNERS) BEANE. He was educated in the public schools, and Comer's Commercial College, Boston [Suffolk County], Massachusetts. He was engaged in farming and lumbering from 1881-1884, and in 1884 started the purchasing at wholesale of farm produce, which business he has since continued. Mr. BEANE was one of the promoters of the Lincoln Lumber Company in 1889; director and connected with the company to the present time. In 1881 he [John H. BEANE] married [Miss?] Lois L. PURINTON of Lincoln. Mr. BEANE is a Republican; he represented Lincoln in the Legislature in 1900. Mr. BEANE has held all the important town offices. He was constable and collector of taxes fourteen years; deputy sheriff since 1897. In religious preference Mr. BEANE is a Baptist, and a member Libanus Lodge No. 47, Free & Accepted Masons, of Bristol. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
